UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Country Team representatives, development partners and embassies visited Nowaeco’s production facilities in Yashlyk on 29 April 2024.
Nowaeco presented its business approach and the technologies used to transform agricultural and textile waste into paper and packaging. Discussions addressed circular production and the company’s wider contribution to local development.
According to the UN press release, the visit formed part of an initiative to strengthen cooperation with the private sector. It followed a 2023 agreement with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan supporting the 2030 Agenda.
